"Let Me Talk My Sh*t!": Asun Eastwood is a Toronto based rapper, born in Belize City to Belizean parents who immigrated to Toronto when Asun was only 2 years old. Asun has always been passionate about music. His paternal grandfather was a locally recognized marimba player in Belize City. Growing up Asun was always excited to dance and sing folk songs with his grandfather and would demand to attend his rehearsals. Asun’s father also loved music and would consistently throw neighborhood parties, Asun would always be eager to perform at these notorious house parties and celebratory events.

Asun Eastwood has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the rap game. His music features looped, hypnotic, bass-riddled samples that serve as the perfect canvas for his provocative style and vivid storytelling abilities. Asun's cinematic approach draws inspiration from classic films and cultural touchstones, resulting in music that has a powerful, transformative quality. In addition to his music career, he’s a savvy entrepreneur, he runs his own business and website, which he uses to release his music, sell physical albums, as well as that of other up and coming artists. His commitment to the creative process extends beyond his music, as he collaborates with other creatives to produce innovative visual content to accompany his music, such as music videos and short films.

With a career spanning 12 critically acclaimed albums in only 8 years of service, collaborations with notable artists and producers in the industry, and a loyal fanbase that continues to grow.

In July 2017 Asun released his first critically acclaimed album NIMBUS. This album featured commercially successful artists like Conway the Machine and SKYZOO (another prominent artist in the underground rap scene). These heavyweight artists help propel Asun immediately into the underground conversation, which is an uncommon feat on a first album release. On Remembrance Day in 2017, just 4 short months after his first album, Asun followed up with another solid album in honour of his close friend Brandon Briggs, that had passed away one month prior. The Hollywood Briggs album put the underground scene on notice, that Asun Eastwood is truly a force to be reckoned with. This album again featured Conway the Machine and now common collaborator and local acclaimed Toronto rapper Daniel Son. This album also marks the first collaborations with veteran producers Futurewave, and 2-time Juno award winner Finn. Futurewave also mixed and mastered the entire album which has sold out of 300 copies of vinyl worldwide.

Since 2018 Asun has released 10 more albums and has been featured on an incredible number of songs and albums for artist all over the world. From Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, Freeway, Killah Priest, Daniel Son, Lord Juco, Flee Lord, Tona, JD Era, Jay Rock, Kool G Rap, etc., This list doesn’t even include the notable producers like Buckwild, DJ Mercilless, Big Ghost Ltd, etc.

Asun has put in the work necessary to be noted as one of the best underground rappers to come out of Toronto and has established a fanbase that spans over 100 countries worldwide and has garnered over 250,000 streams each year since 2020.

Since 2023 Asun committed to stepping up his show skill as the primary opener for legendary artists such as Ghostface Killah, Styles P, Sheek Louch, Kool G Rap, Smif-N-Wessun, M.O.P., and Conway the Machine. Those big stage performances has increased his local buzz and has also lifted his name out of the underground scene to a more mainstream audience.

Asun Eastwood is deeply committed to his community, using his platform to give back and inspire the next generation of artists. His catch phrase “Let Me Talk My Sh*t”, which Asun tends to begin or end many of his songs with, has socially taken on a whole new meaning. In 2023, Graphic Artist/Communitarian Mark Stoddart, with the blessing of Asun Eastwood, began the “Let Me Talk My Sh*t” campaign to bring awareness to Colorectal Cancer, specifically amongst black men. This initiative has included prominent figures within Asun’s community such as Bishop Brigante, Maestro Fresh Wes, Randell Adjei and Dwayne Morgan just to name a few. He has also participated in workshops and mentorship programs for aspiring musicians and has spoken at events on topics such as mental health and creativity.

Asun Eastwood is an artist who is constantly pushing himself to evolve and take risks. He sees his music as a reflection of his journey through life and to connect with others who have faced similar challenges.
